Ingredients:
- Rice - 2 cups
- Ghee - 2 tblsp
- Salt to taste
- Sugar - 1/2 tsp
- Lime Juice - 3 tblsp
- Gingelly Oil - 3 tblsp
- Mustard Seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Bengal Gram - 2 tblsp
- Dry Red Chillies - 3, halved
- Green Chillies - 1/2 tblsp, chopped
- Onion - 1/2 cup, finely sliced
- Raisins - 2 tblsp
- Potato - 1/2 cup, julienned (optional)
- Refined Vegetable Oil - 1/4 cup
- Coriander Leaves - few
Preparation Method
- Cook the rice.
- Stir in the ghee, salt, sugar and lime juice.
- Heat the gingelly oil and splutter mustard seeds.
- Add bengal gram, red chillies, turmeric powder and green chillies.
- Add this to the rice and mix well.
- Garnish with sliced onion, raisins and potato juliennes fried well in 1/4 cup oil.
- Sprinkle coriander leaves before serving.
